The hat
- 60 percent recycled wool, 40 percent acrylic, so it holds its shape without itching
- Double layer through the crown and a deep folded cuff
- Vegetable-tanned leather patch stitched at the cuff, which darkens with wear
- Knitted in one piece, so there is no seam across the crown to press into your head
Fold the cuff once for a close fit or twice for a shallow one. I fold mine twice and lose it constantly.

One size. The rib stretches from 21 to 24 inches and recovers. Folded once it sits just below the ears; folded twice it sits above them.
Hand wash cool and dry it flat, away from a radiator. Never wring it. The leather patch will spot if it soaks, and that is fine, it is meant to.
Double layer with a deep cuff. Wore it straight through a cold snap. The leather patch is small and tidy.
